There's a nationwide movement to make it easier for donors to check out non-profits to see what their mission is, their size, and other relevant information so that they can make a quick decision about whether they want to support them. Already, New Jersey and Washington governments have developed apps which the public can use to see how much of donations are spent on charitable causes and how much goes to overhead, a barometer many people use when deciding which non-profits they want to support. There is no app developed for California yet, but we hope there will be one soon. The Better Business Bureau recommends that charities use at least 65% of funds for charitable causes, but only about 90% of non-profits meet this standard. At Hands To Help Seniors, no one is drawing a salary. Although we do have some overhead such as office supplies and legal and accounting fees, the people helping seniors in need are all on a volunteer basis. We believe in our mission and core values and hope that you will support us if you can afford to by clicking on the donate button.
